About JCT CONSULTANCY LTD.

JCT Consultancy was formed in 1989 to develop and market the LINSIG software package for Traffic Signal Design and to provide specialist traffic signal related consultancy advice to local authorities, consultants and central government.  Since then further traffic engineering software products have been developed, and a comprehensive programme of training courses has been set up both to support the software and to teach general traffic signal design techniques.  The company is based near the historic City of Lincoln in the East Midlands

Our range of software products include LinSig - now in Version Two - the most widely used traffic signal design software in the UK; TranEd our graphical editor for TRANSYT and FlowRound our graphical roundabout design tool. All the products are designed and written by experienced traffic engineers which helps ensure the software works the way the engineer wishes to work - not vice versa.

Our training course programme has been developed over the past decade to now include a wide range of courses at all levels from beginners to advanced. The courses are structured to provide flexibility and to fit around the typical traffic signal engineer's career development path. We currently run around 40 courses per year spread over a range of subjects and locations throughout the UK. Courses include both lectured courses and also computer workshops which are used to teach practical design exercises.

JCT also provide a wide range of traffic signal related consultancy services. Our areas of expertise include traffic signal design, signal controller & system specifications, safety audits, traffic management, detailed microsimulation modelling and LinSig and TRANSYT/TranEd modelling and checking. A particular area of expertise is complex signalled roundabouts.
